Following the cinematic sweep of his first compilation, Movie Music: Volume 2 is an expansive 28-track odyssey through the diverse worlds of independent film director Christopher Forbes.
This volume serves a dual purpose: it is both a soundtrack and an archive. The first 17 tracks represent the definitive, officially released musical backdrops to historic battlefields, medieval legends, and classic Western standoffs. The remaining 11 tracks pull back the curtain on the creative process, collecting "lost" cinematic pieces—ambitious compositions submitted for the films that, while never making the final cut, stand alone as sweeping, evocative works of instrumental storytelling.
The first half of the album features select scores that set the atmospheric tone for four distinct historical and legendary films: Once Upon a Time in Tombstone, Kill Cavalry, King of the Britons, and Hampton’s Legion.
The second half of Volume 2 is a treasure trove for film score enthusiasts. These 11 tracks are the "lost cuts" of Shawn's collaborative journey with Christopher Forbes. Though they remained unused in the final films they represent a fascinating look at alternative musical directions—offering listeners a pure, unfiltered look at Shawn's thematic world-building.

The Unreleased Masterpieces: Shawn composed the entire, sprawling musical score for the historical Civil War submarine drama "Submerged: The Hunley", as well as key dramatic music for the film "Uprising".
