Another Roadside Memorial - (2025)
Released in 2025, Another Roadside Memorial is a high-octane, unapologetic tribute to the gritty, sweat-drenched grit of classic roadhouse rock and roll. Written specifically to be played loud while driving, this album is a fast-paced sonic ride through dark humor, swampy voodoo, adrenaline-fueled nightmares, and local folklore. It serves as a love letter to the thankless, smoky dive bars of the touring rock scene, balancing ferocious energy with moments of hauntingly raw reflection.
Track Breakdown
1. Glasgow Smile
The album kicks off with a blistering critique of modern society's plastic facade. Written after the outcome of the 2024 elections "Glasgow Smile" contrasts the "dream" sold by silver-tongued madmen with the everyday internal struggle to keep up appearances—forcing a grin through the madness and wondering if you're the only sane one left.
2. Brutal
A heart-pounding, high-stress survival anthem. "Brutal" drops the listener straight into an apocalyptic manhunt. With the power cut and shadows closing in, the song captures the raw panic of running out of places to hide, desperately fighting just to survive "a minute more."
3. What a Lovely Day
Pure, chrome-fueled wasteland adrenaline. Inspired by apocalyptic, metal-on-metal chaos, this track is a relentless onslaught of speed and greed. It’s an epic battle cry for a hostile world where "madness has no escape" and Valhalla awaits.
4. Stinky Pink
Deep-swamp voodoo and late-night mischief collision. Taking a playful detour down to New Orleans, "Stinky Pink" is a groove-heavy rocker about the intoxicating, hypnotic power of pheromone funk that can "push a good man's self-control over the brink."
5. I'm in Love With You
A high-energy rock-and-roll love letter dedicated to a partner who drives the narrator wild. Fun, bouncy, and infectious, it perfectly captures the simple, head-over-heels thrill of a great romance.
6. She's So Bad
A heavy, seductive track oozing with late-night attitude, smooth tequila, and gothic mystique. "She's So Bad" celebrates a wild, magnetic partner who knows exactly how to unleash the monster within.
7. White Trash Trans Am
The ultimate white-trash anthem. Centered around a V8-pumping machine of chrome and steel, this fast-paced track follows a neighborhood punk and his biker-bar stripper queen living fast, burning rubber, and blowing cash.
8. Drunk Punk
A sweat-drenched, beer-soaked tribute to the local punk scene. It captures the pure, chaotic friction of a basement gig complete with flying boots, moshing, and losing a tooth to a rogue bass guitar.
9. Theorosa's Bridge
A chilling jump into local urban legend. Based on the infamous haunted bridge, this track builds a tense, eerie atmosphere as the narrator stands above the rushing waters at the 3 AM witching hour, daring to whisper the chant: "Theorosa, I have your baby."
10. Undying Love
What happens when your wedding vows say "until death do us part," but the dead refuse to stay asleep? "Undying Love" is a darkly hilarious, horror-punk love song about having to sharpen the tools to put an undead bride to rest.
11. Women and Whiskey
A nostalgic, raucous tribute to the touring life of a road pirate. Filled with sweat, mason jars of whiskey, and late-night rock-and-roll escapades, this is the ultimate anthem for winding down after a hard-rocking Saturday night.
12. Another Roadside Memorial
The poignant, acoustic-driven title track. What begins as a solemn observation of a forgotten cross by the side of a highway morphs into a deeply personal, heartbreaking reflection on aging, legacy, and the fear of being forgotten.

Behind the Music: Facts & Trivia
No Slowing Down: There is not a single slow song on the entire album. Another Roadside Memorial was meticulously engineered to be played loud, fast, and aggressively while driving.
The Spirit of Backlash: The sonic DNA of the album is heavily rooted in the 25-year history of Shawn's hard-rock band, Backlash, channeling the raw, unpolished energy of the classic bar-band circuit.
The May 16, 2025 Multimedia Event: To celebrate the release, Shawn premiered the album in its entirety during a massive multimedia show. Fully realized, custom-made music videos for every single track were projected onto a massive 25-foot-wide screen with loud stage sound to boot.
After a brief intermission at the premiere, Shawn took the stage for a special 7-song live acoustic set with backing tracks, playing favorites from his catalog:
Black Carrot / Limegreen Butterfly
Let You Go
Old Whiskey and Old Friends
Darling Maggie
You Can't Get the Bar out of Me
The Road (A classic Backlash song)
Goodbye

The Final Curtain Call: Right before performing the final song, "Goodbye," Shawn made the bittersweet announcement that this performance would be his last live show. Immediately following the event, he returned to the studio to begin writing and tracking his final project, "The Eremition of Mad Dog".
